TRIPARTATE + MANDATE

Diversity, Unity, and Outreach

DIVERSITY

Diversity is a very standard and common term but it is a necessary factor for music to thrive. The common classical musician represented in the media is typically older, cis male, and white. Pushing for racial, gender, and sexual/romantic orientation representation within the musical arts will inspire people within those communities to come forward and strive to follow their desired career path.

UNITY

Unity is also a very important term. Even though diversity advocates for good things, it still uses the word “divert” which implies separation. The minority community must unite with the majority to thrive through music because separation will only divide and break down the music community.

OUTREACH

Outreach is also important because people (musicians or non musicians) should learn about diversity in the musical arts. Outreach can also relate to finance. Scholarships can be provided for minority students and funding can be provided to music programs with predominantly minorities.

MANDATE

Our vision for this company is to assist people in the musical arts who are not represented within the classical music field. Our goals for this company is to provide jobs, set up conferences and workshops, provide scholarships and funding in the musical arts, and educate. Providing jobs includes music administration, finding commissions for composers, and finding auditions for instrumentalists/vocalists. Conferences for musicians of all diverse backgrounds would allow them to meet other musicians and network. Scholarships would help music students through their schooling. All of these resources will provide a better future for underrepresented people.
